WELCOME TO FOREVER PRAIRIE
About Us.
Forever Prairie seeks to provide comfort to those who grieve the recent death of a beloved pet. Or, perhaps the decision regarding what to do with a pet's cremains from a non-recent death has not yet been made. In either case, Forever Prairie provides the place, the personnel, and the process for having your pet's cremains interred or scattered on the grounds of a beautiful, restored prairie in central Minnesota located about 75 miles west from the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.
Through our on-line service people can ship to us via the US Postal Service their beloved pet's cremains. Or, your veterinarian's office can contact us to make arrangements in having your pet's cremains shipped to us after the cremains are returned from the pet cremation service used by that clinic. We, in turn, pay your vet's office for their shipping costs. In either case, you pre-pay on-line through this website. Also, no urns are to be included with the shipping of cremains.
Upon receipt we contact you to schedule a memorial service for a scattering of ashes live streaming or video taped ceremony. You can choose to have your pet's cremains buried with the option of having us plant a suitable tree species as a long lasting living memorial tribute.
Forever Prairie is 160 acres dedicated as permanent conservation land. The land features include: upland prairie, wetlands, & natural waterways, It is a varied ecosystem of native prairie grasses, wild flowers, insects, birds, animals, etc. It is a natural, organic habitat free from any commercial development with a minimal human footprint. When Ricky died
Our family pet named "Ricky" was a German Shepherd dog who died at the young age of eight years. As a family we were emotionally devasted by this loss. Fortunately, we live in a rural area where we could bury his body on some conservation land that we own. Our grieving process was aided by knowing that his body was buried in a natural setting that Ricky visited everyday while on walks with a family member. Forever Prairie developed as a result of Ricky's death. Would others find comfort in having their beloved pet's cremains be returned to the soil as part of a beautiful prairie landscape? Would pet owners find solace in having a video record of a memorial ceremony? In other words, if someone doesn't have a beautiful, natural place for cremains, nor the opportunity to travel to that place for a meaningful farewell experience, can the cemetery come to the pet owner in need?
